Studio Pilates. A new way of doing Pilates

It is true that much of the exercise is practiced on the ground, but get ready for something different: Discover the Studio Pilates.

Although we are used to Pilates as we know it, practiced on the floor, also nicknamed matwork Pilates, there are other ways to practice this technique using various devices known as Studio Pilates or Pilates with devices. Studio Pilates classes are made in individual sessions, following the indications of a personal trainer or in small groups. This is a customized workout unlike traditional Pilates, in which each practitioner performs a single workout is specially designed by the instructor.

This technique requires various equipment and device in the room, in order to help the student to perform the postures and movements of Pilates classes, in more diverse way. The specific equipment for this practice are wooden or metal structures equipped with pulleys, ropes or springs that practitioners use at your own pace. With the aid of the devices, there is the advantage of being able to manage the intensity, which allows the exercise to be performed in a less demanding way, to relax the body, or in a more demanding way, to increase endurance and strength. Pilates with devices is ideal for those who are starting in this mode.

The body awareness, the improved posture, the improved breathing, the muscle toning, the improved balance and coordination are the major objectives of the Pilates technique, practiced on the floor or using devices.

However, Studio Pilates may be useful to those who have a smaller body awareness, since the use of the equipment facilitates its lack of body control: how it moves and what the path it takes. The only drawback in practice this type of Pilates is its price: due to its sessions with few practitioners, Studio Pilates is usually more expensive.
