Energize yourself with tai chi chuan

The tai chi chuan, also known as tai chi, is an ancient martial art, more focused on internal development of inner vital energy or Chi.

Originally from China, tai chi chuan is also recognized as a form of meditation, being made on the move. The practice of tai chi spread to the whole world, this art has established itself as a reference of tranquility and balance. Its origin stems from the observation of nature and of the study on the interaction of the balance between its various elements. Tai chi is considered as a source of energy that we have in our interior and its practice has the particularity to promote muscular relaxation, contrary to what is usual in other martial arts.

The so-called internal Chinese schools, where tai chi chuan is part of, are based on Taoism and give great importance to Chi and yin and yang, the two fundamental opposing and complementary forces being yin the feminine principle and yang the masculine. These schools focus, firstly, on the practice and development of what they consider the internal elements.

Taoist meditation techniques are usually made in standing and moving. The movements of tai chi are opened, circulars and relaxed, which combined with a respiratory controlled rate promotes the stretching of the body and its relaxation. This leads its practitioners acquire a greater consciousness of themselves, balancing both the body and the mind. As a rule, the tai chi is practiced outdoors.

The frequent practice of this ancient martial art results in strengthening the nervous system, increasing the concentration, in the conquest of serenity and balance of emotions. Also, tai chi helps to reduce the levels of stress and to increase the flexibility of the body, due to its muscle relaxation, among many others. This art works at the central nervous system, trying to build a base for the balance of the nine organic systems of the body.

Tai chi has the advantage of being able to be practiced by people of all ages, from the youngest to the elderly, and it can bring a lot of benefits from its practice.
