Yoga at the Office. Why not?

Take a break and work out for the sake of your health.

Have you considered how bad it is to sit for 8 hours in a rigid position, pressuring your neck, shoulders, wrists and back? Don’t you think that it might be a good idea to get up for a few minutes, and do yoga with colleagues at the office? May sound silly, but it’s a trend that is beginning to gain more and more attention all over the world. It’s win-win.

There are several exercises you can do to relieve daily tension and work concerns. Start by closing your eyes and take a deep breath. Move the hands on your temples and feel the air go deep into your lungs. Hold your breath and let it out slowly. Put your chin to your chest and begin to slowly turn your neck – very slowly – to not cause any injuries in these muscles, which are so subject to pressure. Also, look up and stretch your arms up, as much as possible. Sit and turn back, once for each side – always slowly, don’t forget it. This movement will release the tension of your back and prevent injuries.

However, try not to make these relaxation exercises alone. Call up one or more colleagues and infuses the office with the habit. In addition to stimulate team spirit and emotional connection between employees, it may also show your boss that you are determined to create a good atmosphere among the working group. It will also boost productivity above expected, since employees will feel invigorated by the releasing stress.

Regardless of your profession, there is no reason not to practice yoga with colleagues at the office. It only takes 15 minutes and willingness will rule, besides people will feel much more relaxed to continue their good work.
