The importance of stretching

The golden rule for exercising: stretching. Stretching are miraculous in injury prevention and greater muscle efficiency.

Stretching provides advantages for exercise lovers: besides stimulating strength and muscle flexibility, it also prevents the appearance of injuries, ensuring increasingly resistance in the implementation of new and old, physical exercises. But the question remains: how to do good stretches?

No need to stretch every day, but it is important that you stretch the muscles and sinews before each exercise The ideal is to warm up five to ten minutes and then stretch as much as you are comfortable, without feeling pain, the members you will exercise. Three to five stretches for each body region is the ideal. But beware: don’t stretch abruptly or quickly; doing so may create a painful and unpleasant injury.

Every time you stretch the muscles of a certain area, you must do it slowly and hold the position for between 10 to 30 seconds, breathing naturally. As the stretches are done, you will notice increasingly ability to reach even further: for example, by stretching the leg muscles at the beginning of your training program, you can find great difficulty on reaching your toes, but as time, and stretching properly executed, is advancing, you will eventually be able to reach your toes easily.

There is, however, a catch. Try to avoid that the joints take right or straight position during stretching: the exercise can compromise your flexibility and even cause injuries.

This behavior, contrary to popular belief, it is not only advantageous for those who make the training the most sacred ritual of life. It is advisable that everyone do stretching. Your muscles and your well-being will be very grateful.
