Some more, some less, but everyone in general have dietary concerns. We know what increases the cholesterol, that sugars and processed foods may aggravate the condition, that natural fats are healthy and that the vegetables play an important role in the regulation of the human body and hydration. However, some people have obsessions with healthy diets and, in fact, this mania may have implications for the body – this is also known as orthorexia.

For starters, there’s the issue of information: normally, who becomes obsessive does not have the knowledge necessary to create diets for themselves, which can cause certain nutrients or protein deficits, putting them in serious risks. In addition, it can also adversely influence the diet of others, as children for example, by keeping this obsessive and unregulated diet. Lately, especially in the United States, where this psychologic disease was first diagnosed in 1997, by Steven Bratman, there have been numerous cases of malnourished people, fruit of these diets without scientific basis. In other circumstances, there also have been a lot of people who have had a positive diagnosis of orthorexia due to self-punishment each time failed to comply with the eating plan that outlined for themselves, as well as there have been some cases of psychosis and paranoia, in which the patients believed firmly that the lack of compliance with a food regime had brought any digestive disease. Stress and anxiety are also common symptoms to those who suffer from this disorder.

Without being alarmist, you should always be careful with what you eat, but above all, pay attention to your behavior in diets. And, of course, always look for the assistance of an expert.
